About Africa Blue Economy Summit
The Africa Blue Economy Summit is a Pan-African thought leadership, investment, and research platform that will bring together all Blue Economy investors, financiers, island and coastal states leadership, researchers, and stakeholders to explore Blue Economy investment opportunities. The relevance of the Blue Economy is encapsulated in the African Union’s 2050 Africa’s Integrated Maritime Strategy and the 2063 agenda, describing the Blue Economy as the new frontier of the African Renaissance. Thirty-nine of the 55 African Member States are island or coastal nations “and therefore, rich in blue resources,” including mangroves and coral reefs.

The Summit is curated to reflect on the necessary actions to build the foundations and enabling environment to establish a thriving Blue Economy across African countries. It will also serve as a building block for further development of policies to support the Blue Economy, and discuss shared challenges and priorities to find consensus, synergies, and solutions towards a common vision.
