About Africa Youth In Tourism Innovation Summit
The Africa Youth Innovation Summit serves as a continental platform for youth in tourism, travel, hospitality, aviation, academia and all related industries to connect, engage, learn and grow. Attendees are introduced to industry leaders and potential opportunities for mentorship, and to potential funders’ support and/or partnerships.
The event takes place on the margins of the annual Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF) and Awards in association with BDO South Africa, NEPAD, UN Tourism and many other international and private sector partners.
The main thrust of the Summit is to support and empower African Youth Innovators in Tourism across the entire travel and tourism value chain beyond technological innovation, offering them skills development, entrepreneurship development and career guidance, as well as mentorship, strategic partnership and funding.

The Benefits
Participants harness the knowledge, influence and trust of leaders in Africa’s travel and tourism industry present at ATLF and Awards. The platform aims to invite innovative ideas and solutions that goes beyond technology, but are related to the travel and tourism industry for review and adjudication by a preeminent panel of industry leaders. The main thrust of the Summit is to support and empower African Youth Innovators Tourism across the entire travel and tourism value chain beyond technological innovation, offering them skills development, entrepreneurship development and career guidance, as well as mentorship, strategic partnership and funding.
Innovation Challenge

- Evidence of innovation in travel & tourism or related industry challenge being solved in Africa – COVID 19 era and into the future (such as technological, social entrepreneurship, educational, youth empowerment and job creation, environmental sustainability, community development, etc.)
- The sustainability of the impact of the project on travel and tourism, local communities and/or related industries.
- Timelines for the project.
- The kind of support required – funding, investors, mentorship, partnerships, etc.
- Conclusion/additional, but relevant information of not more than 500 words.
- Competitor required to show a demo/Minimum Viable Product (MVP) (5 min) during the presentation.
- Age limit – 35 years.
